DEPUTY MANAGER, CONTRACT COMPLIANCE    

DESCRIPTION
Film Musicians Secondary Markets Fund seeks a professional to join our Contract Compliance Department.

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced residual/royalty professional. The Fund is a dynamic 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization providing support to film musicians and the entertainment community worldwide by ensuring the collection, processing, and distribution of residuals generated by their talent and services.

Currently, we are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and self-starting Deputy Manager to join our team. 

The Deputy Manager will work closely with the department Manager in all aspects of daily operations, including but not limited to the following:

  • The overall operation of the Contract Compliance Department, which includes collections, Agreed-Upon-Procedure reviews, bankruptcies, litigation, and film tracking.  
  • The maintenance and development of existing and new contributor relationships to better assist Employers/Producers/Distributors in compliance with the AFM Agreements.
  • Learning the terms of each AFM Agreement as it relates to the Fund.
  • Create and implement department policies and procedures.
  • Assess, train, manage, and motivate department staff.
  • Review department staff work product.
  • Track signatory documents, scoring contracts, and assumption agreements as appropriate.
  • Facilitate the Agreed-Upon-Procedures reviews from initial assignment to auditors through final settlement. This includes detailed review of all draft and final reports issued.  
  • Work with other departments to ensure quality control of data maintained on various databases.
  • Work with Applications Software Development department to help design program enhancements within the various databases to evolve with changing requirements and work procedures.
  • Perform Quality Control of data maintained on various databases and applicable spreadsheets, as appropriate.
  • Perform Internal Quality Control on Fund’s Operational data (eg., microfilm, microfiche, data back-up tapes and film files) by setting up controls, organizing, counting and maintaining data stored in-house and offsite; assist with annual audit of all offsite storage.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years directly related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and completion of core accounting preferred
  • Prior residual/royalty audit experience preferred
  • The ability to read, understand and interpret contract language
  • Advanced MS Excel skills; a high level of comfort working with large amounts of data
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Access
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Must have integrity, honesty and ethical mentality
