Community Legal Aid, the civil legal services provider for low-income and elderly residents of central and western Massachusetts, seeks a receptionist who will work for a period of 90 days (with the possibility of an extension). The receptionist will work out of CLA's Worcester office, but may provide occasional back-up coverage in CLA's Fitchburg office. Full-time hours preferred, but part-time negotiable. The receptionist will work with a team of individuals dedicated to providing free, high-quality legal services to their clients. Duties include answering telephone calls, greeting visitors, screening clients, data entry, filing, and other clerical tasks. The receptionist will also interpret and translate for Spanish-speaking clients.
Qualifications: The individual must be bilingual in English and Spanish. Strong client service orientation. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure. Ideal candidate will have a demonstrated concern for and commitment to the goals of legal services and to helping low-income people, and have prior experience as a receptionist or secretary.
