Reports to: Associate Director, Program Implementation & Partnerships
Location: Washington, DC or New York, NY
FLSA Status: Full-time, non-exempt
The Program Implementation Specialist delivers PeerForward’s youth development programs, designed to transform the lives of low-income youth by equipping high school students to lead their peers to and through college toward career success. The Specialist mobilizes schools along with training and motivating teams of 11th and 12th graders and faculty advisors to lead campaigns during the school year that focus on three things that increase the number of students going to college: applying to multiple colleges, filing for financial aid early, and connecting academics to college and career. The Specialist supports a portfolio of high school teams and provides training and support on postsecondary planning, campaign planning, and community organizing, as well as uses project-based learning pedagogy to help students develop “power skills” most desired by employers: teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, and grit. The Program Implementation Specialists will work with student teams year-round, beginning with training students at summer residential workshops and continuing to engage and equip them throughout the school year.
