The Phillips Collection's school and outreach programs use arts integration to weave visual arts with other core subject areas such as language arts, social studies, and science, while helping students develop 21st-century skills, which include critical thinking and problem solving.
This creative, hands-on approach reflects the spirit of inquiry, experimentation, and intimacy advocated by museum founder Duncan Phillips. The museum's programs have been recognized by local and national organizations, including the National Art Education Association and the American Alliance of Museums.
School and outreach programs are designed to meet the unique needs of individual school communities, educators, and learners. To meet our community’s need for more impactful instructing and learning, the Phillips has developed innovative methods that have been proven to increase student engagement and understanding and enhance teaching.
As a School Programs Educator, you will collaborate to develop and facilitate innovative arts-integrated experiences for pre-k through 12th grade audiences at the museum, at schools in the DC area, and at Phillips@THEARC.
Pay varies by program, otherwise $50 per Museum tour.
