PeerForward is the national nonprofit that transforms the lives of low-income youth by developing a corps of high school students who lead their peers to and through college. The organization, which has been recognized for its social innovation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and President Obama, annually serves 100,000 students and strives to increase that number. PeerForward provides a system for improving college access and career success in nearly 100 partner high schools in 13 states and the District of Columbia.
PeerForward is seeking an experienced, versatile, and enthusiastic Project Manager to manage a variety of high-profile projects across the organization. Successful management and implementation of these projects is vital to our organization’s present and future; many are supported by high-profile funders and have a direct impact to our ability to advance our mission. Projects managed by this position include operational and business process improvement initiatives, business application/technology projects (particularly Salesforce), and program development and implementation activities.
The Project Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables; develops project plans and all related documentation to support the full project life-cycle; manages project teams to ensure deliverables are on time and meet project goals; leads implementation and change management activities; develops user documentation; and provides training and support to internal users.
The Project Manager must be able to work collaboratively in a faced-paced, deadline-driven, and innovative work environment supporting internal and external customer relationships including vendors and consultants.
This position is ideal for a mid-career professional looking to make a difference in a mission-driven nonprofit. Project management is critical to the success of PeerForward and to our ability to effectively serve our partner schools and our students. This position presents the opportunity to be involved with not only back-end project management but also the implementation of the program. We are looking for someone who is excited about the possibility of contributing to the continued development of the PeerForward program. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a demonstrated passion for addressing issues facing the US Education System.
