The AmeriCorps Member will have access to vulnerabel populaions and will be responsible for helping with mentoring, program coordination and activities, office needs and general office and field projects. For the Fortaleza program: "Mentors" provide friendship, encouragement, support and role model to Latino/Latina Fortaleza Members 18-24 years of age transitioning out of prison and /or transitional housing so theat they can become self-sufficient and slf-sustaining in the community.
When a Fortaleza Member graduates their six week intensive Freedom Management courses we want them to reenter society having accomplished the following five goals:
1. To be Self-Sufficient
2. To be actively working toward Personal and Career Goals
3. To have the tools to Avoid Re-Offending
4. To have gained the Certified Credentials offered in Fortaleza (Waxie, ServeSafe, etc.)
5. To have the knowledge and skills that will make them Employable
