Shine Assist, part of our Shine Early Learning division, is a training and technical assistance unit which partners with other Head Start providers to improve their programs through hands-on training, access to our proprietary tools which have demonstrable impact on child outcomes, and the use of our Shine Insight data system.
Shine Implement, the newest unit within Shine Early Learning, manages the delivery of Head Start services for a select group of partners through a suite of services including oversight of educational, family services and program design activities, provision of our proprietary tools, and the use of our Shine Insight data system.
We are seeking an inspired and collaborative individual to join our Shine Implement team as Data Coordinator.
The Data Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that data is effectively used to drive decision-making throughout the Head Start program. He or she serves on the program’s Leadership Team and is accountable for both ensuring that the data being used in the program is both accurate and timely, and that the data is effectively utilized and integrated by the management team to drive compliance and quality. The Data Coordinator oversees the management and implementation of Shine Early Learning’s child information database, Shine Insight, for tracking, reporting and analyzing information about children and families. He or she is responsible for training staff on the use of data, providing technical support for data system users, ensuring the accuracy of data, and reporting and analyzing information.

Analyzes programmatic data and identifies trends that affect compliance, programmatic quality and outcomes.
Effectively communicates data-driven programmatic insights to a range of audiences, including the Deputy Director, Leadership Team members, and center-level staff.
Coordinates with Service Area leads to provide necessary data for SASCIE, Shine Early Learning’s self-assessment system.
Works in coordination with the Leadership Team to carry out monitoring and quality improvement activities.
Provides in-house expertise, training and technical support to end-users on Shine Early Learning’s child information database, Shine Insight; record-keeping systems; and other analytic questions.
Prepares quantitative and other reports and data presentations for internal and external audiences.
Establishes systems to drive work management and data clean-up prior to major reporting deadlines.
Facilitates professional development trainings to drive data-based decision-making.
Coordinates the design of systems to resolve complex analytical questions.
All other duties that may be assigned.
Ability to multi-task, work independently, efficiently organize and communicate effectively with multiple teams and off-site supervisors
Ability to communicate effectively in written or verbal format to groups of all sizes and individuals
Passion for helping children and families, and a drive to close the achievement gap
Educational industry experience is a plus. Pre-K or previous Head Start experience even better.
Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office® products and broad proficiency with technology
Ability to quickly and clearly synthesize information.
