Tacoma Community College (TCC) is pleased to invite applications for the Custodial Manager. The main campus of Tacoma Community College is located on 150 acres upon which are located over 30 buildings with a total area exceeding 479,000 square feet. Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, just south of Seattle, uniquely nestled between the Olympic mountain range and Mount Rainier. This college occupies one 13,000 square foot satellite campus building in scenic Gig Harbor. This position supervises and manages custodial operations for all campus sites providing a clean environment for effective use by students, faculty, staff and the public. Responsibilities include maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, providing high quality service levels, supervising, training and coaching employees (day, swing & graveyard shifts) and budget management. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
The essential functions for this position include hiring, training, supervising and evaluating team members and providing and ensuring appropriate training and coaching as well as developing and implementing procedures to maintain building security. This position will monitor and project annual budgets ensuring fiscal accountability, resolve and follow-up on issues and conduct building inspections to ensure compliance with standards of cleanliness, safety and security.
Minimum qualifications include an associate degree from an accredited college OR equivalent combination of education and experience, five years of recent full-time related experience working in facilities, janitorial or custodial departments in a public facility, five years of supervisory/management experience and computer literacy with business management software.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and experience managing custodial operations in a college or university.
This is a full-time exempt position contracted on an annual basis. The salary range is $48,000 - $54,000 DOE/DOQ, and will be prorated to reflect the remaining contract days worked during the fiscal year.
