The Center for Community Alternatives (CCA) is a leader in the field of community- based alternatives to incarceration. CCA promotes re-integrative justice and a reduced reliance on incarceration through advocacy, services and public policy development in pursuit of civil and human rights.
Job Summary: Responsible for the oversight and operation of CCA’s workforce initiatives, including supervision of project staff and coordination with collaborating agencies. Ensures the achievement of project goals and objectives consistent with agency mission, contracts and key performance indicators, including job placement and retention. Develops and maintains employer relationships resulting in placements and collaborative relationships. Contributes to program direction and policy development, development of curricula and policies and procedures, coordination of staff training, grant management, development of funding applications, reporting to funder(s). Ensures successful coordination and participant flow with CCA’s jail-based programs, legal services, recovery services, and housing services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Commitment to and experience in working with adults and youth with diverse cultural backgrounds who are involved, or at risk of involvement, with the criminal/juvenile justice system, HIV/AIDS, or substance abuse. Bachelor’s degree in human service field or public administration or a related field and 3 years of management experience, required. Experience in workforce development and employment programs, required. Strong written/oral communication, project and data management and supervisory skills required. Personal experience with recovery and/or criminal justice issues, a plus. Computer literacy (word processing, e-mail, internet research, data entry) required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Occasional travel to out of town/state conferences and meetings, required; Valid NYS driver’s license and access to vehicle required; ability to gain clearance to OCCF, required.
