Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) is seeking a full time Director of Human Resources to direct all Human Resources activities in support of our mission. The person in this position is responsible for developing and managing all aspects of HR programs for 150 employees, including compensation and benefits, employee relations, training, recruitment, compliance, policy and program development, employee records, etc.
The Director of Human Resources is an active member of the senior leadership team of SCES, and will help us plot our future course.

Responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of all Human Resources functions and systems, including, but not limited to, staff development and performance management, compensation and benefits administration, and record-keeping.
Provides guidance and support to all levels of management and staff on HR related policies, issues, procedures, and regulations.
Oversees the Office Manager and administrative staff.
Participates as a member of the senior leadership team in developing strategic direction for the agency.
Recruits and welcomes applicants for a variety of positions in the agency.
Oversees talent management from recruitment through onboarding.
Is approachable, accessible, welcoming, and respectful to employees throughout the organization.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. Eight years minimum experience. Master’s degree, bi-lingual skills, SHRM certification are all plusses. Must have working knowledge of employment and benefits law, including COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and anti-discrimination. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills. Supervisory experience required.
Detail orientation. Supports and helps develop a diverse work force. Ability to identify both problems and opportunities and take initiative to solve the former and exploit the latter.

Salary and Benefits package
Low to mid 90’s, based on experience.
