FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products seeks mid-career professionals who are interested in shaping the future of tobacco regulation to apply for a 12-month, paid fellowship. Opportunities are available in the following areas within the CTP: Compliance and Enforcement, Health Communication and Education, Management, Regulations, Policy, and Science.
Fellows actively participate in the development of science-based public health strategies, serve as the lead for defined projects, and meet with policy leaders. Each fellow will be awarded a stipend based on salary history (up to $95,000) and may choose to enroll in a health insurance plan through the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), which administers the program, or get reimbursed for a COBRA plan. Fellows with a sponsoring institution may be compensated for fringe benefits. In addition, each fellow may be eligible to receive a relocation fund (not to exceed $10,000). The application is open until 5:00pm ET on March 1, 2018.
Exceptional professionals with a minimum of five years of experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals of the United States, or have been admitted to the United States for permanent residence and have a valid green card number before applying to the program, and must have an advanced degree in one of the fields listed below.
