Human Resources Manager


ABOUT THE POSITION:The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of Compass Housing Alliance’s human resources operations including total rewards, employee relations, Union contract management, Affirmative Action, general compliance, and training/development activities. All responsibilities are conducted in a manner consistent with the spirit of the Compass mission and its philosophy of care. The successful candidate will have excellent skills to manage the technical needs of the position in a manner that includes the ability to step back and offer long-view perspective on the human resources needs of the agency.

LOCATION: Headquarters in Pioneer Square

REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources


SCHEDULE: Days Monday-Friday

SALARY RANGE: $60,000-$70,000 annual DOE

  • Demonstrated knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in Human Resources administration and compliance.
  • Demonstrated competency in union contract management.
  • A Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Services, Business Administration or Management with an emphasis in Human Resources or relevant work experience, certificate and/or equivalent continuing professional development or education.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ human resources experience, required.
  • 2 years’ experience working in a unionized organization, strongly desired.
  • 2 years’ experience working in a non-profit organization, desired.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification, desired.
  • Familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, desired.
