If you answered yes you might be our next Development and Fundraising Manager for the Lupus Foundation of America’s Pacific NW Region.
As a key member of the Pacific NW Region team, the Development Manger will help us grow the region through revenue generation; volunteer recruitment and management; program support; social media and information referrals. You will manage fundraising events including our signature event, Walk to End Lupus Now, provide excellent and timely customer service to our constituents, support programmatic and advocacy efforts all while raising awareness in service to our mission.
Roles and responsibilities of the Development and Fundraising Manager include, but are not limited to:
Managing designated Walk to End Lupus Now events, including planning, implementation and post-event cultivation of attendees.
Recruiting, managing and supporting volunteer committees as assigned to reach event goals.
Achieving revenue goals through solicitation of corporate sponsorship and participant fundraising efforts.
Managing 3rd party events in region as assigned.
Maintaining accurate database records and assisting constituents with fundraising software tools.
In concert with regional staff, developing relationships with key regional volunteer sponsors and fundraising participants to elevate and maximize revenue impact.
In conjunction with national office team and regional staff, facilitate LFA education and support services in designated areas that are consistent with LFA strategic vision and objectives.
Developing a current knowledge of lupus health issues, services, and key initiatives that drive the support of the mission. Ensure the Foundation's mission is integrated throughout fundraising activities to ensure results are directly tied to volunteer engagement.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
We are seeking an experienced fund-raising professional with a minimum 3-5 years of experience in successfully implementing special events, sponsorship sales, volunteer engagement and committee development activities with a proven track record of exceeding fundraising goals. Responsibilities include:
Experience leading volunteers and volunteer committees.
Ability to establish strong, collaborative relationships and the adaptability to work with a variety of personalities and leadership styles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt interpersonal and communication style to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
Proven ability to work well in a fast paced and team-based environment.
Demonstrated knowledge and use of digital, social media & emerging online channels.
Self-starter and able to work independently and under pressure while managing multiple priorities, projects and deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, donor tracking database programs, and fundraising software.
Able to work effectively with colleagues throughout the organization as well as external customers and vendors.
Available for weekend and evening work.
Ability to lift 35+ pounds.
Willingness to travel 25-30% of time within region (car travel).
Fluency in Spanish is considered a plus.
Prefer that candidate be located in the WA King County region. Office is located in downtown Seattle.
Minimum – Bachelor's degree.
