Salary, Benefits, and Schedule: 40 hours a week, salary, exempt.
Generally, the position will be 9 AM – 5 PM except during trainings. Salary is $47,840 annually with an increase after completion of a 90-day probationary period. Benefits include generous sick and vacation time accrual, as well as medical benefits with Kaiser Permanente.
Summary of Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of Verity’s Executive Director, the Crisis Intervention Manager effectively coordinates and implements crisis intervention services, manages and recruits volunteers to staff the 24-hour hotline; including implementing trainings, and is an integral position within the entire agency. The Intervention Manager must be client-focused and committed to meeting Verity’s goals and objectives. The Intervention Manager must also serve on collaborative multi-disciplinary committees and continually innovate and improve the program to ensure effective, culturally competent and compassionate services.
Intervention Services Management:
� Ensure crisis line counselors are providing services in accordance with Verity’s mission, service standards, and grant objectives.
� Oversee the execution of department grants including tracking of objectives, data entry and completing reports to funders.
� Manage a diverse staff including off-site and on-site staff positions, and implement quarterly trainings to develop job skills among staff. Includes supervising the Lead Advocate at the Family Justice Center, the Crisis Line Coordinator, and five advocates.
� Provide medical/legal accompaniment services to survivors of sexual assault and their families, as needed.
� Ensure that all interviews have our accompaniment services.
� Attend case review meetings with partner agencies.
� Follow strict adherence to Rape Crisis Center guidelines as established by the State of California Office of Emergency Services.
� Support the full-time Administrative Assistant/Crisis Line Coordinator position to identify, recruit, screen, and maintain a diverse group (age, gender, background, language) of volunteer Advocates and Crisis Line Counselors.
� Develop and implement quarterly 45-hour trainings in accordance with requirements of California Office of Emergency Services.
� Provide direct ongoing training, support, supervision, and evaluation of all Intervention volunteers.
� Coordinate monthly training sessions with robust presentations by community partners and field experts including trainings in accordance with various funding requirements.
� Develop and provide sexual assault trainings and/or presentations to members of law enforcement, District Attorney staff, medical/hospital personnel, faith-based organizations, community groups and the general public.
� Maintain a positive, professional working relationship with volunteers, clients, the general public, law enforcement, agency staff, and community partners at all times.
� Present to the community on Verity services, and be able to fill in for other intervention staff presentations as needed.
� Attend weekly Verity staff meetings, advocate meetings, and monthly manager meetings.
� Complete monthly Intervention Department reports including applicable volunteer stipends and mileage logs.
� Work as a team player, collaborating effectively with other staff members.
� Complete accurate and timely program reports for funding entities.
� Collect, maintain and input accurate confidential client information into agency’s database system.
� Manage large amounts of communication via email, phone, fax, and other mediums.
� Adhere to all Verity personnel policies and protocols.
� Answer phones, as needed.
� Greet the public and clients as they enter the office, as needed.
� Additional duties and responsibilities as required by Executive Director to facilitate the overall effective operation of Verity.
� Bachelor’s degree or equivalent career management experience.
� Experience managing employees and/or volunteers.
� Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
� State certification, in past three years, as a sexual assault counselor/advocate. If not certified, candidate must be able to complete Verity’s Crisis Line Counselor training.
� Ability to maintain a high level of client confidentiality.
� Proficiency with Gmail and Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Access.
� Must be a self-starter who can work in a team environment and handle a variety of tasks with urgent deadlines.
� Strong execution of organization for self and department is a must.
� Excellent written and oral communication and facilitation skills.
� Employment is contingent upon completion of background check and DOJ fingerprint check.
