The Donor Database and Prospect Research Manager is a newly created position reporting to the Director of Development. The Manager will join a seasoned five-person development team responsible for raising over $4.8 million annually from individuals, foundations, and corporations. The Manager will provide critical support to achieve Sustainable Conservation’s fundraising goals and broaden the existing base of support. Working closely with all members of the department, this position will have ownership of the donor database (DonorPerfect Online) and provide leadership on the effective use of the database to others in the department. This position will also be responsible for donor and prospect research for individuals, foundations, and corporations, and assist with prospect management. The Manager will initiate identification of likely donors for inclusion in cultivation efforts. Our ideal candidate has experience working with databases and details with an aptitude for getting the best results to support fundraising objectives. The candidate would be also enjoy conducting research, analysis, and working independently while being part of a larger team.
Database management: (Approx. 60%)
Serves as key individual responsible for managing and maintaining the DonorPerfect Online (DPO) database, including: maintaining current and accurate contacts, data imports, and gift entry. Creates and analyzes reports generated from DPO to support the success of annual fundraising plan.

Research: (Approx. 40%)
Conduct individual donor, corporate and foundation research, including: tracking research requests, conducting donor and prospect research, and wealth screenings using iWave and other sources. Research will inform portfolio development, and individual donor, foundation and corporate funding strategies. This role is crucial to the organization’s success in its ability to identify, cultivate and steward new and existing relationships.
