SDYS Job Announcement:
Status:Part-time (25 hours), $14.43/hr plus excellent benefits
Specific Responsibilities: Accountable to Program Manager. Provide street and program outreach and intensive case management to at-risk, runaway or homeless youth. Create community network of support to include self-help group initiation. Community development within neighborhood and community at large, including relationships with other providers, businesses and law enforcement. Through community development activities, increase safety and security of TAY Academy & Youth Emergency Shelter.
Other duties as required
Qualifications: Associate degree in Social Work or related field or 2 years of experience working with high-risk youth. Knowledge of community development. Strong organizational and data entry skills. Experience in street and milieu work, crisis intervention. Must be willing to develop or possess working knowledge of trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment; experience working in trauma-informed and dual diagnosis program preferred. Team approach and self-help. Bilingual (Spanish/English) helpful. Available to work some evenings, weekends and holidays. Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Must have driver’s license, a clean driving record; be willing to drive throughout San Diego County (mileage reimbursement available). First Aid & CPR certification. Willing to go through clearance process which may include drug testing (Hire is pending the results of appropriate clearances).
