SDYS Job Announcement:
THP-Plus and THP+FC Programs
Status: Part-time (20 hours per week), $14.43/hour plus benefits
Specific Responsibilities: Accountable to the THP-Plus/FC Program Manager for supervision, training and monitoring residents of a SDYS-owned apartment complex; works cooperatively with program staff and SDYS Housing & Facilities Department to provide consistent services to all residents focused on safety.

Working Conditions: RA lives on site, neighboring program residents as well as fair market residents. Compensation includes reduced rent, but still responsible for utilities and telephone, as well as paid part-time hours. RA is to be available to support THP program staff, facilities personnel, as well as residents, allowing for flexibility in schedule. Time spent on the premises, outside of the above referenced job duties, is completely voluntary and is considered time spent engaged in normal private pursuits, not work hours. Should program residents require assistance/intervention, while the Residential Advisor (RA) is engaged in personal activities, the RA must be available in a timely manner to render necessary services.
Physical Requirements: Must have ability to bend at the waist, kneel or crouch. Must have ability to lift
and carry 30+ pounds—lifting furniture, mattresses, boxes and other items required for youth to move
in and out of apartments
Qualifications: Able to reside on site and model safety and appropriate independent living skills for residents. Minimum 2 years of experience working with transition age youth (18-24), sensitivity to a variety of social/cultural backgrounds, including former foster youth. Must be willing to support youth by providing immediate or timely interventions during crisis situations. Must be willing to develop or possess working knowledge of trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment; experience working in trauma-informed and dual diagnosis programs preferred. Must maintain CPR/First-Aid Certificate. Must have good driving record and willing to use own, properly insured, reliable vehicle for the job (mileage reimbursed). Must be willing and able to drive agency van (15 passenger) in order to move youth in and out of apartments. Employment subject to clearances, which include background finger printing checks, driving record, Tuberculosis testing, and drug testing.
