PCI’s New Business Development Unit (NBDU) oversees the prospecting and strategic pursuit of federal donors to obtain funding for PCI programs as well as in support of broader organizational initiatives. The NBDU facilitates research, planning, prioritization, and decision-making for all United States Government (USG) funding opportunities and leads the coordination process for all USG proposals, ensuring the highest possible quality. The NBDU develops and executes resource development approaches using evidence generated by a set of analytical tools which are part of PCI’s PURSUIT approach.
The NBDU Coordinator is based at the International Office (IO) and provides strategic support to the NBDU to facilitate communication and effective coordination between NBDU, other Programs Department units—Operations, Technical Leadership and Support, Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) — the field, and the Development Department, with a particular focus on the areas of: (1) Proposal Development; (2) Information Management and Dissemination; (3) Donor Stewardship and Relationship Cultivation; and (4) General Support Duties. The NBDU Coordinator directly supports research and analysis on new funding opportunities and donor prospects, specifically in support of programs. The NBDU Coordinator works in coordination with other Programs Department support positions to maximize efficiency of all department efforts, and to ensure that all department functions related to donor and partner relationships are fully supported, especially during peak times.
