Physical Requirements: Must have ability to bend at the waist, kneel or crouch to assist youth. Must have ability to hear and speak to exchange information and make presentations. Must have ability to lift and carry 20 pounds--lifting books, materials and equipment to execute groups and presentations. Seeing to read, prepare and review a variety of activities and to monitor youth activities. Sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Potential exposure to physical injury from aggressive behavior.
Qualifications: Must have direct experience as a consumer or care-giver of a consumer of children’s mental health services, the juvenile justice system, or Special Education. Must have a Bachelor’s degree or four years of supervised experience with children and adolescents including the documentation of services following a standard protocol. Experience working with former foster youth and/or runaway and homeless youth preferred. Must be able to pass clearance for working with Minors. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Committed to cultural awareness. Must have good driving record and willing to use own, properly insured vehicle for the job. Must be willing to develop or possess working knowledge of trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment; experience working in trauma-informed and dual diagnosis programs preferred.
