WE ARE CODA


We provide medical treatment, teach parenting skills, carry out research and manage health records. We cook, we write, we keep CODA's buildings safe and clean. We run group counseling sessions, manage payroll, hire, train and support our 300 colleagues working in several locations in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington Counties. We are counselors, nurses, maintenance workers, accountants, leaders, medical assistants, case managers, administrative staff and doctors.

Our Accounting / Billing Specialist make a difference by:

  • Verifying patient financial and insurance eligibility; initiate financial and payment agreements, Release of Information.
  • Submitting patient financial setup, scheduling transactions, charging entries in electronic medical record software.
  • Assisting patient with self-administration of medications per established procedures, including accurately recording all medication activities in the medication record.
  • Auditing patient accounts.
  • Monitoring partial funded patients: handling income verifications and authorizations; processing patient level of care stage forms.
  • Overseeing accurate and timely collection of active patient Private-Pay revenue.
  • Maintaining professional and ethical behavioral standards of conduct when meeting with patients; working cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service; assisting with patient conflict resolution as needed; directing patient questions involving coordination between medical, clinical, and medical records staff.


Those with the following qualifications and experience are encouraged to apply:

  • Associate's Degree OR equivalent of five years of experience in customer service.
  • Have knowledge of the following: cash handling processes, collections, HIPAA guidelines.
  • Have advanced customer service skills including clear and professional verbal and written communication skills and strong problem solving abilities; able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Be able to operate a computer keyboard by touch and have computer skills that include the use of an electronic billing system. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and proficiency in Excel.
The bonus opportunity comprises of a $500 sign-on bonus (appears on first check)
and another $500 after 6 months of employment for a total of $1,000.
