Founded in 1933, the IRC is a leading nonsectarian, voluntary organization providing relief, protection and resettlement services for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict. One aspect of the IRC is to provide assistance to refugees resettling in the United States. The IRC opened an office in Phoenix, Arizona in 1994 to provide reception and placement services to newly arrived refugees. The office resettles refugees and provides numerous program services to assist refugees from their arrival through citizenship.
The Education and Learning Program at IRC Phoenix provides educational services to refugee children and youth to enhance integration. The Summer Education Caseworker works within IRC providing a range of supportive activities to meet clients’ educational needs. The position is primarily responsible for coordinating summer activities, support with school enrollments, and support in high school age youth educational and skill-building programming. Additionally, the Summer Education Caseworker will assist specifically in the area of data collection and tracking. This position reports to Education and Learning Program Manager.
Standard office work environment combined w/standard classroom setting and some travel throughout service delivery area. This position will be working with a school-based summer program and will require travel to and from the IRC office and summer program location.
