FIRE is seeking a Program Officer with strong networking and interpersonal communication skills to join our FIRE Student Network team. The Program Officer will report to and work directly with FIRE’s Director of Campus Outreach, in addition to corresponding with outside organizations and students.The duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
This position will also perform other support functions for the day-to-day operation of FIRE and will frequently collaborate with other staff members and departments on general duties and specialized projects, including but not limited to contributing to FIRE’s online Newsdesk and working closely with our outreach staff, Policy Reform team, and the Individual Rights Defense Program.
This position involves a moderate amount of travel. Work on weekends and evenings should be expected.
The expected start date for this position will be late June.
A successful candidate will be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently. Most importantly, the candidate must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact and network with diverse audiences. A candidate must also be able to demonstrate:
