The Breakdown:
Are you an enthusiastic event planning professional with a passion for youth development? Do you love special event management and organizing national fundraising events? Are you a highly motivated individual who is self-sufficient and detail-oriented? If you answered yes to all of the above, then we want to talk to you about becoming Chill’s Events Manager. This position has the flexibility to work remotely and will require some travel to Chill sites across the United States and Canada. The ideal candidate will be based in Chicago, Illinois.
This full-time, salaried position reporting directly to the Director of Development will be an integral part of Chill’s Marketing and Development Team.
What You Get to Do:
- Work closely with the Director of Development on developing and implementing revenue-generating events that will continue to grow the organization.
- Manage all aspects of coordinating and executing Chill events across North America including, but not limited to, the Chicago Golf Scramble, Chicago Big Chill, Chicago Shredfest, Seattle Shrefest, Toronto Shredfest and Vancouver Chill in the Park.
- Identify major donor prospect and cultivation event opportunities that meet target objectives; Design signature revenue-generating events for Chill to replicate across the country that align with our mission.
- Produce and manage detailed event plans including timelines and agendas.
- Manage all event volunteers and ensure adequate support for the success of each event.
- Produce invitations, event web pages and work with the Development Coordinator to track registrations, responses, and attendance.
- Manage budget tracking and post-event results tracking and reporting.
- Conduct post-event wrap up and analysis of all events.
- Onsite event management as required, including nights and weekends when applicable.
- Some travel required.
What You’ll Bring to The Team:
- A Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated a track record of executing revenue-generating events
- Experience with growing major fundraising events and identifying new revenue grossing events
- Excellent writing, project management, and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under strict deadlines
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet goals and objectives
- Familiarity working at a non-profit organization strongly desired
- Resourceful and thoughtful team player
- This position does not require prior work experience or knowledge of the board sports industry, but a willingness to embrace the industry is expected
- Experience working remotely and independently is desired
