  Job Description

The Development Manager, Investor Relations will support the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of the organization’s Org-Wide major gift pipeline. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Development & Marketing, the Development Manager, Investor Relations will help ensure College Track executes a major gift strategy that meets the highest standards and is rooted in a relationship-based approach to major gift partnership. The Development Manager, Investor Relations will manage major gift campaigns designed to raise support for the organization’s national budget and lead the development of a major gift stewardship strategy that ensures our donors remain connected, informed and passionate about the organization and its students. The Development Manager, Investor Relations will manage the internal execution of the organization’s Annual Benefit, including the sponsorship solicitation process and project tracker. The Development Manager, Investor Relations will also begin the process of cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a pipeline for individuals capable of giving between the $2,500 and $10,000 levels.

 

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Support of the execution of our major gift strategy, including arranging donor meeting logistics, creating donor meeting briefing documents, conducting prospect research and tracking donor engagement through our donor database
  • Manage the internal execution of the Annual Benefit, including ownership of the sponsorship outreach process and Annual Benefit Master Tracker, pre and post event donor communication, and overall project management
  • Support the Vice President of Development and Marketing, Managing Director of Development, and Chief Executive Officer in formulating and executing strategies for cultivation and stewardship of donors major gift level ($10k+ per year).
  • Regularly attend meetings and events to expand and strengthen our donor network.
  • Support the creation and execution of a stewardship strategy designed to ensure Org-Wide Major Gift donors remain informed of the impact of their support and the organization’s gratitude for their partnership
  • In partnership with the Vice President of Development, lead the creation of our first Bay Area Local Advisory Board and serve as the College Track liaison for Bay Area LAB board members
  • Develop a Bay Area event strategy that supports the stewardship of our long-standing donors who attend our annual benefit
  • Assists with annual appeal mailing each fall, including identifying recipients, drafting communications, handling mailing logistics, and tracking follow up; also assists with e-appeals throughout the year.
  • Manage the execution of campaigns related to the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of Bay Area and National Major Gift donors
  • Draft and finalize proposals and reports for major donors
  • Cultivate, solicit and steward major gift prospects capable of giving at the $2,500 to $10,000 levels
  • Support the major gift strategy through other projects as identified.

 

Qualifications:

First and foremost, the Development Manager, Investor Relations must embrace the College Track vision of transforming low-income communities into places where college graduation is the expectation not the exception. Additionally, the successful candidate must possess the following:

 

Required Professional Skills and Experience:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience communicating with high net worth donors effectively, efficiently, intelligently, and passionately
  • Experience working on a highly-collaborative fundraising team, within an organization with a budget of $5 million +
  • Advanced project manager skills that can keep a large team, with in-person and virtual members, connected to shared goals
  • Experience managing complex events with a donor-centered perspective
  • Experience managing, tracking and reporting on donor and revenue data
  • Highly developed capacity to accurately and objectively evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of our program and to make  appropriate judgments on articulating the data in proposals and reports
  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred.
