About College Track
College Track is a college completion program that empowers students from underserved communities to graduate from college. We serve over 2,400 high school and college students in East Palo Alto, Oakland, San Francisco, New Orleans, Colorado, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. Ninety-four percent of our high school seniors have been accepted to four-year colleges and our college students are graduating at a rate that is 2.5 times the national average for low-income students.

Position Overview 

College Track is seeking a Board and Communications Manager who will be responsible for managing College Track’s internal communications including leadership communications, newsletters, staff meetings, and supporting Board Meetings.  The Board and Communications manager will work with the CEO and other leaders and program staff to develop communication materials and provide communications support.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Board Liaison Support (50%):

  • Manage all administrative and logistical aspects of Board-level committees, coordinating agendas, distributing meeting announcements, assembling and disseminating preparatory materials, preparing meeting minutes, and reserving meeting room space (including video technology).
  • Work with committee chairs and board members as needed to track action items and accomplish committee-related tasks. 

Communications (40%):

  • Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to manage internal communications.
  • Manage the process for procuring content required for regular All Staff Meetings. Prepare materials for All Staff meetings and coordinate all logistical aspects.
  • Manage, create, and distribute all internal newsletters including the CEO Newsletter, All Staff Monthly Newsletter, and MMMPop Newsletter.
  • Manage special projects related to College Track operations and communications as assigned.

Annual Calendaring (10%):

  • Facilitate the process of collecting and delivering annual organization-wide calendars
  • Maintain and update calendars as needed throughout the year

Skills and Experience Required

The Communications Coordinator must embrace the College Track vision of transforming low-income communities into places where college readiness and college graduation are the norms. Additionally, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-year college degree
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts into language easily comprehensible to a diverse audience
  • Outstanding organizational skills, keen attention to detail, time management, and follow-up skills
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as online email and website platforms
  • Proven ability to successfully collaborate with a diverse group of professionals in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and problem solve independently
