About College Track
College Track is a college completion program that empowers students from underserved communities to graduate from college. We serve over 2,400 high school and college students in East Palo Alto, Oakland, San Francisco, New Orleans, Colorado, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. Ninety-four percent of our high school seniors have been accepted to four-year colleges and our college students are graduating at a rate that is 2.5 times the national average for low-income students.

Position Overview

College Track seeks a strategic and creative Marketing & Events Manager who is both compassionate and fearless about empowering students from underserved communities to graduate from college. The Marketing & Events Manager is responsible for the successful planning and execution of marketing projects related to branding, digital marketing, development/fundraising, and events to drive brand awareness, revenue, and engagement. This position will report to the Director of Marketing & Alumni Strategy.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Under the guidance of the Director of Marketing & Alumni Strategy, implement marketing strategies to build brand awareness and support fundraising and revenue goals
  • Oversee the creation and execution of marketing materials for both national and regional fundraising and events
  • Ensure College Track’s identity is consistent across all mediums through effective messaging, knowledge sharing, and enforcement of branding standards
  • Develop a framework for launching national and regional events with detailed project timelines, roles and responsibilities, logistics, program structures, and marketing guidelines
  • Support regional sites with the execution of events; lead planning and debrief meetings, make vendor, marketing and event structure recommendations, and occasionally support with logistics
  • Manage an organization-wide events calendar and communicate details with key stakeholders including the National Leadership Team, Strategy Team, and program staff
  • Collaborate with Director of Marketing & Alumni Strategy to develop and implement digital marketing strategies that drive user engagement and increase online fundraising including SEO, PPC, fundraising platform, social media, and email campaigns
  • Manage and execute website updates, email campaigns, social media posts, and editorial calendar
  •  Measure, track, and optimize the effectiveness of online marketing, creative, social media, and campaign performance
  • Develop and manage relationships with external partners, including advertising agencies, graphic designers, copy writers, and printers
  • Help provide creative direction for photo shoots and video filming
  • Manage effective and efficient distribution of regional marketing materials and maintain digital archives of marketing assets

 

Skills & Experience Required

First and foremost, the Marketing and Events Manager must embrace the College Track vision of transforming low-income communities into places where college readiness and college graduation are the norms. Additionally, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 3 years experience managing marketing projects, the creative process, and events in a non-profit, consumer products or services industry
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve business objectives and strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional project management and writing skills; digital marketing and social media experience preferred
  • Experience identifying and directing internal and external creative resources: advertising, creative, and public relations agencies
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and process management skills; ability to set appropriate priorities, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and relationships simultaneously
  • Demonstrated creative vision, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Budget management experience and aptitude
  • Intermediate experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Flexibility and adaptability; a true team player
  • Undergraduate degree required and advanced degree preferred
