Recovery Assistant – $14.40/hr Closing Date: 9/5/2018
F/T 40hr/wk positions to provide assistance, support, and activities to individuals with severe or prolonged mental health diagnosis, and in accordance with a Wavier Recovery plan for successful community living. Worksite: Norwich Hours: Monday – Friday 1st shift
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement Assist or teach ADL skills: hygiene, meal planning, prep, shopping, housekeeping, financial advocacy such as resolving issues around bill paying
Provide social rehabilitation such as family, social and recreational activities
Cue participant to engage in medical services, use of medication as prescribed, and other healthy habits
Provide rehabilitation skills in order to assist the member in avoiding risky behaviors including substance abuse, limiting tobacco products and making good decisions.
Provide required documentation of Services.
Provide transportation related to approved services when necessary
Participate in waiver recovery plan development and quarterly plan update meetings as needed
Required to provide coverage as needed at any of the Agency sites per Agency need
Engage in continuous concerted efforts to access, obtain, respond to pertinent agency information/communications and disseminate as appropriate
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
Recovery Assistant Certification through DMHAS or eligible within1 month of hire. Must pass certification test.
Valid Connecticut Driver’s License, vehicle registration and vehicle insurance
Good driving record
