  Job Description

Residential Assistant (Temporary) - Transitional Living Community 2 $14.40/hr   

Closing Date: 11/8/17

F/T 40 hr/wk temporary position for residential program assisting service recipients with recovery and harm reduction goals. The Transitional Living Community Program’s mission is to assist individuals in obtaining and maintaining a healthy lifestyle which promotes individual growth and life enhancement, as well as the development of valued social roles. Worksite: Norwich   Hours: Monday-Wednesday 4:35pm-midnight, Thursday 4:45pm-midnight, Friday 4:45pm-3:00am.  Duration of position is approximately 90 days.


Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license.  Work experience in the provision of Mental Health preferred.




  1. Engage and support members with participation in residential, recovery oriented activities, recreational, social, and community events.
  2. Teach skills that support members with daily living skills and meeting daily living needs such as shopping, laundry, housekeeping, transportation, etc.
  3. Implement designated goal activities in coordination with the Service Coordinator or Director/Coordinator.
  4. Provide crisis intervention supports.
  5. Conduct light:  housekeeping, disinfecting, yard maintenance and snow removal on sidewalks and emergency exits.
  6. Provide emotional support to members.
  7. Monitor member’s physical and mental health and report relevant information to the service coordinator or Director/Coordinator.
  8. Document interactions in the Program’s Communication Log.
  9. Provide coverage as needed at any of the Agency sites per Agency need
  10. Engage in continuous concerted efforts to access, obtain, respond  to pertinent agency information/communications and disseminate as appropriate
  11. Provide working conditions that maximize safety for staff and program participants.
  12. Maintain CPR/FA Certification
  13.  Other responsibilities of Reliance Health staff, such as participation in Agency events, adhering to Agency Policies and procedures, training requirements, etc.
  14. Perform duties while demonstrating Agency Core Competencies and values
