People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is seeking an experienced professional to provide its president with key support. You will join a small creative team dedicated to advancing PETA's goals and participate in every aspect of our work, including campaign development, policy research and analysis, and member cultivation. Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform research projects on a wide range of animal rights topics

• Manage events such as PETA and PETA Foundation senior staff retreats, meetings, and in-house VIP gatherings

• Assist with development, research, marketing, and media coverage for the president's books and other projects

• Independently organize and attend speaking engagements, interviews, and book signings for the president

• Draft responses in the absence of the president to inquiries about a wide range of animal rights topics

• Interact professionally and diplomatically with PETA donors and others who contact the Office of the President

• Assist the president with e-mail and other matters while she is traveling or otherwise unavailable

• Professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the president



• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns

• Proven exceptional written and verbal professional communication skills

• Demonstrated superior organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

• Proven project management skills

• Proven effective research skills

• Proven ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and decision making

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Demonstrated ability to anticipate problems, identify opportunities, and take a proactive approach to responsibilities

• Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

• Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle

• Ability and willingness to travel

• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. drivers' license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record

• Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to advocate PETA's positions on issues professionally

• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
