Under the leadership of the Senior Vice President of Communications and Marketing, the Director of Communications and Media Relations(DCMR) will implement and help develop the plans to support the communications goals of Safe Horizon.
Specifically, the work will center on leveraging and enhancing the marketing ecosystem (PR, social media, digital communications) to heighten awareness of the organization. Plans will focus on media relations, which includes working with media agencies and news outlets on both reactive and proactive stories, and production through the creation of digital assets (i.e. rapid response video production), and management of the agency’s social media channels. Additionally, the DCMR will manage the support provided to major advocacy and awareness efforts, as well as provide support for rapid response and crisis communications with the goal of being relevant and having a consistent message and voice across all communication platforms. As a part of this work, there is significant collaboration with the development team.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in these areas and a strong track record in effective collaboration with partners internally and externally in managing this work.
Execute Safe Horizon’s reactive and proactive external media relations and social media processes. Create yearly strategic and tactical communications plans to increase the visibility and stature of the agency, its key executives and experts.
