Human Resource Manager for a major international Jewish humanitarian non-profit, headquartered in midtown Manhattan.
In this newly-created position, you will report directly to the COO and CFO - two exceptionally smart and warm individuals. The organization needs a dedicated HR professional, as having too many other responsibilities, they will hand the HR functions to this individual.
The focus of this position will be employee relations. This will encompass staff development, on-boarding, counseling, and all levels of recruitment, including the writing of job descriptions, postings, and interviewing. Although benefits, insurance and payroll is the responsibility of the Accounting Department, a knowledge of these disciplines is a decided plus, as some of these responsibilities may transition to HR in time. Should, of course, have deep familiarity with all rules and regulations relating to employment.
Of utmost importance is one’s substantial and related experience, and ability to innovate, as ultimately you will help create your own job description. The ideal candidate: would have started/built or restructured an HR department; worked in a hands-on role in a small HR department; worked in an international and/or multi-cultural setting.
You will work in a team-oriented environment, alongside of a very stable, motivated and growing staff. The organization offers and competitive and flexible salary (around 90K +/-), comprehensive benefits, and would like to make a quick decision.
