Harlem Center for Education is a non-profit organization that has been providing free educational services to low-income youth in East Harlem and New York City for over 40 years.
- Provide instruction and tips on taking the Math portions of the SAT exam;
-Take attendance at each class;
-Prepare materials and curriculum for use in the classes in advance of the class;
-Administer and correct pre- and post- mock SAT math exams;
-Communicate with HCE advisors as to students' progress and any concerns;
-Provide results of pre- and post-mock exams;
-Attend orientation and staff development and staff meetings;
-Report to the High School Coordinator and/or Assistant Director of HCE
Qualifications: Have an associate’s or bachelor's degree and experience in tutoring and/or instructing students in the taking of and preparation for the SAT Math exam; Experience working with low-income youth is preferred. Have good organizational and writing skills. Be engaging and committed to working with low-income youth to further their education.
Days: Saturdays, 10AM - 2PM beginning September
