We have an exciting full-time position for a Community Program Specialist. Reporting to the Manager of Community Partnerships, this position will be based in GSEMA’s Middleboro office.

The Community Program Specialist will be responsible for the support of contractual organizational relationships with “site partners” at the community level. These site partners serve as an extension of Girl Scouting through collaborative efforts and provide recruitment and service delivery opportunities for community based initiatives.  CP Specialists will also provide support to Collaborative Programming that takes place in the community or on GSEMA property.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Community Partnership (CP) Managers with the implementation of an annual plan for membership and partnership growth.
  2. Ensure delivery of high quality community based programs for girls through the recruitment and training of a team of staff and volunteers.
  3. Assist CP Managers with scheduling and support the team to meet all required administrative responsibilities in a timely manner such as expense reports, data collection, conference calls and meetings.
  4. Assist CP Managers in the promotion of Camp and Outdoor Opportunities for girls and site partners.
  5. Assist management with the planning and implementation of collaborative programs both in the community and on GSEMA property.
  6. Provide customer support to contractual partnerships with community organizations and educational institutions that serve as site partners for the delivery of the Girl Scout program to increase adult/girl membership.
  7. Facilitate site partner and staff orientation. Conduct semi-annual site visits and partner evaluations on behalf of the assigned CP Manager.
  8. Monitor budgets for program sites, events and activities as directed.
  9. Collaborate with community groups/organizations and service units for the purpose of volunteer recruitment and resource sharing opportunities for girls.
  10. Keep abreast of latest safety, risk management and Girl Scout program materials to ensure program compliance with all standards, applicable laws and guidelines. Ensure that Activity Checkpoints and GSUSA standards are maintained for all activities.
  11. Collect appropriate data for completion of grant reports.
  12. Understand council resources available for reasonable accommodation and to ensure Girl Scouting is available to all girls. Adhere to the council philosophy of inclusion.
  13. Assist with the organization of department activities, trainings and events.
  14. Ensure that staff and participants are registered members of GSUSA.
  15. Provide professional, quality customer service to members, volunteers, staff, and other community contacts.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of some college education; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • One to three years of youth development experience required.
  • Goal oriented and demonstrated ability to meet or exceed deadlines.
  • Experience providing leadership in team development, participant retention and program delivery.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, as well as public speaking and program capabilities.
  • Must possess good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all functional areas to achieve Council goals.
  • Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve problems. Ability to use sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work, while managing multiple deadlines in a continually changing work environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
  • Car and valid driver’s license necessary to carry out assignments.
  • Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and accept the Girl Scout commitment to work with all without regard to race, ethnicity/culture, religion, socio-economic-status, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation or differing abilities.
  • Bilingual skills, preferred.
