  Job Description

We have a new and exciting, full-time position: Manager, Community Partnerships. This position will be based in the GSEMA Middleboro office and will report to the Associate Director of Community Partnerships.

The Manager of Community Partnerships will execute a comprehensive plan for girl membership growth and retention to meet membership goals. She/he will be responsible for the development of contractual organizational relationships that result in “Site Partners” at the community level.  These “Site Partners” will extend Girl Scouting through collaborative efforts and provide recruitment and service delivery opportunities for community based initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Associate Director of Community Partnerships with the development and implementation of an annual plan for membership and partnership growth through the research of market data, membership trends, and other pertinent information relevant to assigned Region.
  2. Assess the needs of underserved populations and ensure that Girl Scouting is extended to all girls within the jurisdiction. Keep abreast of trends and issues in the community affecting girls and council services and GSUSA’s changes, trends, and requirements related to the Girl Scout program and Council. Ensure that delivery systems reflect the identified needs and interests of site partners, girls and volunteers.
  3. Ensure delivery of high quality community based programs for girls through the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation a team of staff and volunteers. 
  4. Manage all aspects of scheduling according to department resources and community needs.  Ensure the team meets all required administrative responsibilities such as expense reports, data collection, conference calls and meetings in a timely manner.
  5. Establish and maintain contracts with community organizations and educational institutions to serve as site partners for the delivery of the Girl Scout program to increase adult/girl membership.
  6. Facilitate site partner orientation. Manage site partner relationships and the execution of contracts at the implementation level. Conduct semi-annual site visits and partner evaluations.
  7. Monitor budgets for program sites, events and activities. 
  8. Collaborate with community groups/organizations and service units for the purpose of volunteer recruitment and resource sharing opportunities for girls. 
  9. Work closely with the recruitment specialists on whether targets for membership and retention are being met and work with the department to revise strategies as necessary to secure and retain members in assigned communities/areas. 
  10. Keep abreast of latest safety, risk management and Girl Scout program materials to ensure program compliance with all standards, applicable laws and guidelines.  Ensure that Activity Checkpoints and GSUSA standards are maintained for all activities.
  11. Collect appropriate data for completion of grant reports.
  12. Understand council resources available for reasonable accommodation and to ensure Girl Scouting is available to all girls. Adhere to the council philosophy of inclusion.
  13. Assist with the organization of department activities, trainings and events.
  14. Ensure that staff and participants are registered members of GSUSA.
  15. Provide professional, quality customer service to members, volunteers, staff, and other community contacts.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 1-3 years of management and supervisory experience, offsite supervision experience preferred.
  • Strong internal and external partnership management and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills that result in fruitful partnerships at the community level.
  • Goal oriented and demonstrated ability to meet or exceed deadlines.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the MA Dept. of Education priorities and Local school systems resources.
  • Demonstrated understanding of National Common CORE Curriculum Standards and MCAS scoring systems.
  • Must have demonstrated research skills to determine school system resources and priorities and the ability to conduct community needs assessments for prioritizing partnerships and program opportunities for girls.
  • Experience providing leadership in team development, participant retention and program delivery.
  • Strong communication, organization and time management skills, as well as public speaking and program capabilities.
  • Experience in the development of budgets and ability to manage financial resources effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all functional areas to achieve Council goals.
  • Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve problems. Ability to use sound judgment in decision-making, and to work independently.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work, while managing multiple deadlines in a continually changing work environment.
  • Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to motor vehicle necessary to carry out assignments.

  • Bilingual preferred.
