Contra Costa ARC provides support and services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as autism, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, and Down Syndrome. We are a community-based nonprofit organization providing direct services and advocacy to assist those we serve in achieving their highest level of personal independence and self-sufficiency.
We are now hiring Instructors for the adults who are attending our day programs in Richmond. The instructor assists adults with multiple and severe disabilities to meet their chosen personal goals. Services are provided at program site as well as in the community. We are also hiring Instructors in Concord.
Must be comfortable assisting adults in personal care: feeding and changing adult briefs.
CNAs are encouraged to apply! Caregiver, senior care or experience working with adults who have disabilities is preferred. Training is provided.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and good written and verbal communication skills. Solid, verifiable work history, valid California Driver's license and good driving record required. Applicants must meet State licensing requirements involving health screening and Department of Justice clearance, meaning no criminal record.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8 am - 3:30 pm or 8:30 am - 4 pm (37.5 hours/wk)
Compensation: $13 per hour + great benefits + $500 HIRING BONUS (pays $250 at 3 months and $250 at 6 months)

Our vacation accrual rates are generous: 1st and 2nd year of employment = 2 weeks vacation a year; 3rd and 4th year of employment = 3 weeks vacation a year; 5th to 9th year of employment = 4 weeks vacation a year; the 10th year onward = 5 weeks vacation a year.
