WE is seeking a Senior Manager, School Partnerships and Family Engagement to join our Pacific Coast team. The Manager will be responsible for promoting the WE Schools civic engagement and service-learning program in independent schools across California. This manager will work to secure educational partnerships with independent schools and support those schools through the life of the partnership, as well as directly engage youth and families in the school community.
The Manager will be the key relationship owner for his/her portfolio of schools and will have responsibility for driving new registrations and increasing school fundraising, campaign involvement and participation in international service trips. It is the responsibility of the Manager to ensure retention of his/her portfolio and to increase involvement from year-to year.
WE Schools is a free program designed to empower youth through school-based service-learning. WE Schools is active in 10,000 K-12 schools and 2.3 million students. Through educational resources and service campaigns, students further their curricular learning and develop the life skills for success. Young people are challenged to research and make an impact on at least one local and one global issue that sparks their passion. WE Schools receive curricular resources, service campaigns, professional development for educators and mentorship programs to help students become change-makers. 
Through participation in WE Schools, students and educators earn their tickets to WE Day. With world renowned speakers and performers, mixed with real inspirational stories, WE Day celebrates the power of every person to change the world.

Your Impacts:   


Independent Private School Partnership Management

  • Develop and implement strategies for the proliferation of WE Schools within independent schools in California; this may include creating promotional materials and managing distribution channels
  • Oversee programming for independent schools within California; this may include responsibility to develop informational resources, assist schools with project planning, and provide push-in support within classrooms
  • Regularly meet with independent school leaders and educators to encourage their participation in new experience, campaigns and activities with WE 
  • Serve as an advisor and liaison to schools/educators and provide them with resources and support the implement WE Charity fundraisers and awareness raisers
  • Use success stories to share best practices and build loyalty within the independent school community

Champion Youth Relationship Management

  • Hold and manage stakeholder relationships with champion youth and further engage them and their families in WE programming
  • Actively support the Individual and Family Giving team with the local Youth Council initiatives
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with select WE Youth Council participants
  • Liaise with New Revenue Management and Executive office teams to further engage youth of key donors and partners to be champions of the WE Schools program in their school

Internal Responsibilities:

  • Work with relevant internal departments to develop cross-organizational growth opportunities
  • Provide schools with a holistic experience with the WE brand (domestic service learning, international fundraising, transformational travel experiences)
  • Attend and contribute to the planning and organization of conferences, events and speaking engagements provided to independent school stakeholder groups
  • Work towards two measures of success: charitable giving towards WE’s international programming and experiential learning and travel
  • Have a robust knowledge and expertise of WE Charity’s international development projects within the seven countries where communities are served (travel to projects may be required in summer months or over school breaks)
  • Prepare and provide quarterly reports on the status of your portfolio and activities
  • Assist in developing strategies to drive retention and loyalty among independent schools 
  • Ensure internal data systems are kept up-to-date with the changes and the status of each school contact; utilize data systems to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for growth

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in public administration, education, communicates or related field an asset
  • Strong understanding of service learning/civic engagement pedagogy, international social justice issues and independent school culture
  • Background in teaching and/or experience in the education space preferred
  • Background in fundraising and/or sales an asset
  • Highly self-motivated, independent, and a strategic thinker
  • Strong analytical ability to leverage stakeholder insights and build effective strategies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound understanding of and experience working with Microsoft Office suite, and CRM systems (Salesforce knowledge preferred)
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support WE Schools across the Pacific Coast and WE Charity’s initiatives more broadly across the United States
  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to WE’s core values and mission statement 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and passport
  • Access to vehicle is an asset
