Under the direction of the CEO, supervise Accounting Clerks, execute billing, payroll, fiscal reports, tax reports, and payroll. Develop and manage agency's anual budgets and cost reporting for all government contracts. Conduct all fiscal activities to ensure agency operates within annual budget limits.
Required qualifications & Prior experience: Must hold a degree in finance, accounting or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning, and must have at least 3 years experience in fiscal management. Prior experience in nonprofit drug and alcohol treatment facility and working with government grants preferred. Must possess a valid California Drivers License or ID card. Must pass an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and educational verifications.
Required knowledge & skills: knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles, knowledge of Excel, MS Office applications, Fund EZ and ADP software preferred. Must possess at a minimum intermediate knowledge, skills and abilities in office automation equipment and software including Internet applications.
Personal Qualities: Must have high degree of sensitivity to the agency's target populations,m including substance abusers/users, correctional populations, Veterans, persons with HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ community, homeless, indigent and those dually-diagnozed.
Prepare and present monthly financial reports to CEO and board of directors, tracking revenue, billings, operating expenses, payroll, taxes, and other agency expenses including mortgage expenses and rental payments to agencies. Payroll taxes and other agency expenses. Oversee monthly billings, fee contracts and contracts with subcontractors and contultants, supervise and train accounting clerks, pepare monthly reports, assist all financial auditors. Prepare all budgets and all funding sources in 3, 6, or 12 month intervals as required. Prepare approximately 20 cost reports annually as required for all budgets. Oversee payroll and tax reports. Oversee insurance insurance coverage and day-to-day fiscal activities.
