Dogtown Behavior Consultant Job viewed 1160 times.
  Job Description

Best Friends Animal Society is looking for an innovative behavior consultant to work at the Sanctuary, who has the instinct to teach and can thrive in a fast paced collaborative working environment. You'll meet all kinds of dogs who might not have survived at traditional shelters, and help them overcome their behavior challenges, whether they're painfully shy, having trouble getting along with others, or just inexperienced at being house pets. The training that happens here sets an example for shelters all across the country! This really is a special healing haven unlike anywhere else on earth, and you can help change the lives of these animals – and animals all around the country – by doing a stellar job of training dogs through working in partnership with the caregivers.

Position Summary: The Behavior Consultant will work with care-giving staff to assess needs, develop and implement a training plan for each dog to increase adoptability and improve the dog's chances of remaining in the new home. Develop and implement innovative training and residential management programs for behaviorally challenged dogs to increase quality of life and adoptability. Develop and present workshops for staff and visitors. The Behavior Consultant will assist caregivers with making daily interactions with the dogs training opportunities. Check out the complete job description and apply today at: http://bestfriends.org/Careers. The position is listed under Kanab.

Join Best Friends and turn your career into a labor of love. The benefits package is one of the best! Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic and Supplemental Life Insurance, Short and Long Term Disability, Child Care reimbursement, Pet Sitting reimbursement, Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account, PTO, Paid Holidays, Employee Assistance Program, 401K, Staff Discounts, Best Friends Wellness & Fitness Center, and Flex Work Policy. Further, we also have some very unique perks, such as discounted veterinary care and the opportunity to bring pets to work. Our onsite cafeteria serves healthy vegetarian food.

Best Friends Animal Society has been building effective lifesaving programs for more than 30 years. When Best Friends began, 17 million animals died every year in shelters. Today, thanks to caring people like you, the number of animals killed per year is two million. Still, nearly 5,500 dogs and cats are killed in America’s shelters every day, simply because they don’t have safe places to call home. By increasing the number of adoptions and implementing spay/neuter programs to reduce the number of animals who enter shelters, we know we can end the killing. Work with us to help Save Them All®.
