Direct Support Professionals assist adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in a residential living environment.
- Helping adult participants with daily activities
- Accompanying adult participants to doctor appointments
- Cooking and serving meals
- Performing light housekeeping duties
- Running errands
- Providing companionship.
The ideal candidate should display in his or her resume the following assets: an attitude of respect for people with disabilities, physical fitness, a high degree of professionalism, effective communication, attention to detail, and pro-activity.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
- Ability to maintain PACE driver certification.
- Minimum 23 years of age.
- Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
