Gold Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that works with medical and nursing schools, and in hospitals and other professional settings across the U.S. to sustain the commitment of healthcare professionals to provide compassionate, collaborative, and scientifically excellent patient care. 96% of medical schools in the U.S. host at least one of the APGF’s programs, and the Foundation is rapidly expanding its Gold Humanism Honor Society, which now boasts 153 medical and graduate school chapters and 27,000+ members. FUNDING: APFG has a current operating budget of approximately $3.2 million, generated primarily through philanthropy, membership fees, and special event income. The organization’s endowment has a current market value of approximately $11.3 million. APGF has ambitious growth goals consistent with its strategic direction.
THE OPPORTUNITY: In partnership with the President & CEO, the Board Fundraising Committee, and in coordination with the Senior VP of Programs, the Chief Development Officer will provide strategic fundraising leadership, creating and implementing a comprehensive plan to increase individual, foundation, and corporate contributions—including planned gifts—and a range of partnerships. The CDO will also play a critical role in implementing APFG’s 5-year strategic plan, that focuses on positioning the organization as the leader of a social movement in health professions education and healthcare practice that recognizes humanism as the core of healthcare.
The CDO reports to the President & CEO, oversees a professional team of three, and directs external development and marketing consultants.
