The Financial Assistance Manager provides overall leadership of federal grants programs for the Division of Local Government, including providing training and technical assistance and materials for internal staff to promote cross-collaboration with other programs at DOLA. The position also provides direct supervision and leadership to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Manager, CDBG Business Program Manager, who oversee federally funded public facilities grants and small business loan programs, the Community Crime Prevention Initiative Program Administrator, as well as one Program Assistant. This position collaborates with one other Financial Assistance Manager to create efficiencies across all financial assistance programs in the unit. Additionally, as the Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Program Manager, the position applies expert level CSBG knowledge to manage and administer the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) CSBG Program.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in community development, non-profit management, public administration, political science, social sciences, or a closely related field and four years of program administration including a minimum of one year of experience administering community programs aimed at alleviating the causes and conditions of poverty in communities and/or application of Community Service Block Grant rules and regulations.
