We have an exciting opportunity to join our national Marketing team as a Salesforce Business Application Director.
The Salesforce Business Application Director will oversee the business application work related to the Society Customer Relationship Management strategy. The position will lead work in documenting business requirements, training materials and conducting user acceptance testing across our technology development, software integration and configuration projects for Constituent Relationship Management (CRM). Acting as a liaison between business and technology the Business Application Director ensures 100% adoption rates within the Society's user groups and completely aligns CRM tools with Society business processes.
Essential Function/Responsibility
Lead project initiation and continuous improvement phases of Constituent Relationship Management projects for implementing Salesforce products including Non Profit Success Pack. Collaborate with business users and managers during the project initiation phase: setting project and feature backlog priorities, and defining scope
  • Work with Society functional teams to define and document business processes for relationship management across Development, Services, Volunteer Engagement, Advocacy and Health Care Access.
  • Develop detailed business & functional requirements, including use cases and user stories for use by Technology department and/or 3rd party partners.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing on all CRM system development projects.

Develop and execute plans to continuously improve the user experience, promote adoption, and monitor and improve policies and compliance.

  • Lead user experience exercises including constituent journey mapping to drive continues process improvements.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes from a strategic Constituent perspective to key stakeholders regarding complex business processes.
  • Provide ongoing consulting and expertise to business function teams on how to best leverage CRM tools.
  • Lead end user training in conjunction with Society Learning and Development team.

Drive growth in the CRM platform through new applications and technology.

  • Establish holistic understanding of what functionality and capabilities are available as well as what has already been implemented.

Review, analyze, and continuously evaluate user needs related to the strategic design and direction of constituent relationship management tool.

  • Work with Technology staff to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
  • Provide point and click administration and configuration of CRM system for functional teams' post rollout.
  • Support business users on administrative and basic configuration changes including reports, tool look and feel and basic automation.
  • Admin level support including password resets.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science preferably in Business, Marketing, Operations, or Information Technology.
  • Some college plus at least 10 years of related experience will be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree

Minimum Experience:

  • Proven record in leading the development and strategic implementation of universal standards of excellence in business process and productivity improvements for a highly complex organization.
  • Highly motivated to create strong organizational relationships and demonstrated effective collaboration and leadership in order to achieve results.
  • Excellent project management skills and a positive attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Previous nonprofit experience, specifically in the areas of focus preferred
  • Commitment to the mission, vision, cultural values, and expectations of the National MS Society


  • Previous CRM administration (Salesforce/MS Dynamics) experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in an Agile environment preferred
  • Previously responsible for point and click administration of mission critical system (ex: ERP, CRM, CMS etc.)
  • Previous experience leading business application
  • Successfully led 1 or more CRM integrations including leadership developing requirements for CRM project or implementation
  • This position will be required to drive/travel on Society business. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation. The Society does run motor vehicle checks for all positions which require driving and the applicant must meet the Society guidelines.
Professional License/Certification Required:
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator preferred but not required
  • Marketing Cloud Certified Administrator preferred but not required
