About the Organization:
The mission of New Moms is to express the love of God by surrounding young moms and their children with all they need to transform their lives. New Moms is a 35 year old nonprofit organization, with a budget of about $4 million and a staff of about 50, focused on serving young moms in Chicago and the near western suburbs. New Moms’ model provides a comprehensive range of services to young moms and their children including supportive transitional housing, workforce development, early childhood services, and parenting support and education. New Moms’ headquarters is located on the west side of Chicago in the Austin neighborhood. Our social enterprise, Bright Endeavors, which provides paid transitional jobs for young moms, is located nearby in the West Garfield Park neighborhood. We also have an office in Oak Park serving the near western suburbs.

About the Job:
The full-time Supportive Employment Specialist (SES) position is an integral team member of our Workforce Development Program team, and provides comprehensive, individualized case management and coaching to young moms in the Workforce Development program. This includes connecting families with resources, goal planning, assistance with overcoming obstacles, and providing support to assist young moms in obtaining permanent, high-quality employment. Coordinates with Workforce Development team to support young moms so they can maximize the training, coaching, and job placement opportunities available. The 16- week job training program integrates career exploration, job readiness skills, financial literacy, and paid transitional work to prepare young moms for advanced education, employment and job retention. This position is located at our main office in the Austin neighborhood and will involve travel to our social enterprise, Bright Endeavors, in the Garfield Park neighborhood. Salary: $36,000-41,000 depending on experience.
