Building a secure and hopeful today so children facing health issues and poverty succeed tomorrow. That's the promise of The Children's Place Association.
We help children overcome illness and extreme poverty so they can lead healthy, productive lives. Opened in 1991 in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis, our Chicago-based organization now serves children and families challenged by a wide range of conditions. Our programs include Early Childhood Education, 24-hour Nursing, Family Housing, Supportive Services, Foster/Adoptive Care and Summer Camp. We serve more than 350 Chicago-area children and caregivers annually, and our international program helps 300 HIV/AIDS-affected children in Haiti.
We are seeking a Family Success Coach to lead our supportive housing team. The Family Success Coach is a seasoned professional who takes an intentional strengths based approach to working with families in the agency’s scattered site and project based supportive housing programs. Through their interactions with the Family Success Coach, families develop skills to articulate their own self-sufficiency goals and find their own paths to achieve them. The Family Success Coach assists families in developing strategies to achieve self-sufficiency and promote their children’s success in school.
The Family Support Coach's role is to help families shift their perspectives and discover different solutions to the challenges they face through intensive case management, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, consistent follow-up and a harm reduction approach. The goal is to help the family recognize and understand underlying causes of their challenges, identify their own skills and capabilities and then use those skills to cope more effectively and achieve self-sufficiency.
