Building a secure and hopeful today so children facing health issues and poverty succeed tomorrow. That's the promise of The Children's Place Association.
Since 1991, our Residential Center has served the most medically fragile children in the greater Chicago area, becoming a "home away from home" for this highly vulnerable population. Children's conditions range from cerebral palsy, developmental delays and complications of prematurity or HIV, to shaken baby syndrome, physical or mental abuse, or substance exposure. This 10-bed facility offers 24-hour care by specially trained nursing staff and dedicated volunteers. It is more than just a place to stay, it is somewhere children can laugh, learn, dance, nap, eat and play.
We are seeking PRN Child Care Workers to support the day shift at the Residence (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM). The Child Care Worker assists with medical treatments as established by each child's Primary Care Physician, the Medical Director and Nurses. This position also prepares nutritious meals for children, ensures that the facility is safe and maintained in a clean and orderly manner, and drives children and/or provides transportation to their medical appointments or school.
