Thresholds Community Support Specialist (CSS)
Do you desire to inspire people with mental illness to reclaim their lives? For over 50 years, Thresholds has provided progressive community mental health treatment aimed at helping individuals define their personal recovery paths and live independent and fulfilling lives.
The community support worker will provide clinical services at a 44-unit permanent supported housing program. The program provides “inreach” services to residents, who are people with histories of homelessness, severe mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders, and outreach services to those who have transitioned to the larger community. The program strives to provide a recovery community that includes a) individual and group services rooted in evidence-based practices (i.e., motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, harm reduction, relapse prevention therapy, medication assisted treatment), b) peer support and mutual aid group facilitation, c) opportunities for pursuing employment, educational, and other meaningful goals, and d) practical assistance with maintaining long-term housing.

Interested candidates should minimally possess a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field; a Master’s in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Rehabilitation Services is preferred.
