In the fall of 2013, Christopher House built on its portfolio of early learning centers and expanded our transformative culture into a birth to eighth grade school composed of an Early Learning and an Elementary Learning House.  The Elementary Learning House is a K-8 charter school.  The school creates unprecedented collaboration between early childhood and elementary educators as well as family support programs.  In addition, it provides foundational exposure during the earlies years of life to our culture of high expectations and academic excellence.

Does the idea of taking on new projects or learning the beginning ins and outs of the administrative backbone of a site peek your interest?  Is Learner or Adaptability one of your talents?  If so, this position may be for you!  We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable individual who is interested in working with all classrooms at the Uptown Center.  This position will primarily support the 3-5 program, but at times can support in the 0-3 program.  A floater teacher will work daily throughout different classrooms.  This position is ideal for someone interested in working in a variety of classroom settings, and supporting multiple teams.

The Floater position is full-time and includes benefits.

Postion is non-exempt and reports to Site Director           

Position Objective: Substitute in place of absent teaching staff (Master Teacher or Assistant Teacher) Determine the needs and provide for the development of children, will act as a role model for Teaching Staff and work to create a safe environment for children.  This staff member will implement and maintain all components regarding preschool children, based on HS, State Pre-K, Child Care and state and local requirements.

Qualifications: Two years of experience (full-time) in a preschool classroom, preferably in a HS or governmentally funded child care program.  Bi-lingual skills in a variety of languages are a plus.

Education: Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (with a minimum of thirty semester or forty five  quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six), type 04 Certification required.
