* This is a full-time position that requires you to be able to make a commitment to serve every day of the week, Monday - Friday from July 24, 2017 to June 8, 2018 from approximately 9:30am to 6:30pm.
WINGS is an after school education organization that helps improve the lives of at-risk elementary school age kids by developing their social and emotional (SE) skills - how to behave well, make good decisions, and build healthy relationships.
We serve approximately 100-140 students per school. We are not a drop-in program. Our kids, mentors, AmeriCorps members, and staff must commit to the program every day of the week for a full academic year (exceptions: holidays, vacation, sick days).
We seek exceptional candidates who are confident, organized, patient, resilient, creative, flexible, and fun. He/she must have a passion for kids and strong motivation to improve the lives of at-risk kids.
This is an AmeriCorps service position. AmeriCorps regulations only allow individuals to complete a maximum of four terms of service with a State or National AmeriCorps program (note: VISTA programs do not count against this total). To be eligible for this position you must not have exceeded the maximum of four terms of service.
The Program Associate (PA) serves as the co-leader of the WINGS after school education program at each of our partner elementary schools. The PA AmeriCorps role is a 1 year rotational leadership development program to develop future Program Coordinator and Coaches (PCC) who can serve as PCC's in Charleston, Atlanta, Charlotte, and other regional cities as WINGS grows. The individual will serve alongside the Program Coordinator and Coach to coach part-time college mentors and to ensure accurate implementation of our SEL curriculum.
