Overview: A community services based, multi-cultural, non-profit agency located in Covina, CA., is seeking an experienced Compliance and Evaluation Coordinator to join our team. This position reports to the Senior Accountant regarding compliance issues and to the Executive Director regarding evaluation issues.
Job Summary: Provide compliance support to the Finance Department ensuring conformity to non-profit accounting and in compliance with the agency and government regulations. Further, this position will maintain and assist in the development of outcomes assessment databases, tools, and methods to ensure that agency and program objectives are being met.
Review grant proposals, award documents and contracts, to facilitate the effective submission of reports and monitoring of compliance at all stages of projects, including project initiation on using web based and other data systems.
Assist in the review and conditions of grants, contracts, and subcontract agreements, particularly with respect to compliance with government, sponsor, and agency policies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and expertise in federal/state/private agencies’ regulations and policies, and staying abreast of new laws and circulars which affect sponsored program activities.
Responsible for contractual invoicing for service units based contracts, which requires extensive extracting and manipulation of data in Excel.
Develop and conduct educational workshops that will help advise, assist, and train program staff to ensure compliance with institutional, sponsor, and federal regulations.
Responsible for data compilation and overseeing the entry of data in the system used for analysis.
Perform other duties as required.
May assist in program evaluation plan implementation.
Work with program staff to develop a system for timely entry of data and response to data queries.
The ability to maintain confidentiality of all participant records and other data collected about them.
Some assistance with data analysis, report writing including and compilation of data in table and graphical form.
Participate in program meetings as necessary to support good evaluation procedures.
Education: Bachelor Degree or higher strongly desired
Years of Experience: 3+ years of non-profit working experience
Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite and Intermediate level in Microsoft Excel required
Ability to understand contract language and attention to detail required
Understanding and application of non-profit accounting, program evaluation, and outcomes assessment strongly desired.
Some evenings and weekends are mandatory due to fundraiser events
Must possess reliable operating transportation for off-site meetings
Must be able to lift, carry, move 25 lbs
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with extreme attention to detail and accuracy required
Ability to make independent professional decisions with thorough research skills
Must be a fast learner, self-motivated, takes initiative, dependable, reliable, responsible
Must hold highest integrity and exhibit high degree of confidential professionalism
