We are looking for a Program Coordinator who will be primary school liaisons of our Remote Tutoring and Mentoring Program (RTM) in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our RTM program connects middle and high school students with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) professionals for weekly mentoring and tutoring sessions using a web-based, interactive whiteboard and audio connection.

Required Skills, Experience and Abilities
A self-starter who works well in a small company environment
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
Demonstrated ability to work well with various constituencies including, but not limited to, teenagers, volunteers, professionals, community and school groups, parents, and business leaders
Strong time management skills with ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects
Organized – we generate a fair amount of electronic and physical media that must stay organized and quickly accessible
Comfort and experience with public speaking and a clear communication style with everything from large groups to individuals
Ability to work independently and collaboratively; must be able to complete all work and support work for the betterment of the company
Strong ability to problem solve and find effective solutions to problems
A commitment to continuous improvement through honest communication, collaboration and skillful implementing new procedures
Comfortable working with and troubleshooting both Mac and PC calmly, efficiently, and independently; ability to solve technical issues (particularly sound issues) for both platforms
MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Google Docs (spreadsheet and word processing)
Website editing: familiar with basic web authoring tools, e.g.: WordPress
Data base entry and management
Familiarity with VOIP systems
Preferred Experience and Interests
A passion and basic understanding of K-12 education
Experience with education-based programs in either the non-profit or other sectors
Knowledge of the local community
Experience managing volunteers including recruiting, day-to-day management and troubleshooting, and retention
An appreciation for both the demands and rewards of community-level philanthropy
Mentor recruitment: Recruiting mentors from key companies
Mentor on-boarding: Assist in interviewing mentors, running the mentor orientation meetings, and overseeing mentor security checks.
RTM Program Coordination – Run the RTM program including:
Create and sustain organization systems that keep the program running efficiently and smoothly
Setting up the school for the RTM program (computer setup, getting teacher and school commitments)
Work with teachers and mentors to create RTM student schedule
Attend all sessions to ensure maximum success
Act as a facilitator with all key stakeholders (school staff, mentors, students, parents, independent contractors and WTSF staff)
Troubleshoot and manager tech troubles during the RTM session
Oversee, manage, and support the mentor/student pair relationship
Updating the RTM website with weekly class materials
Work with Program Manager to create RTM training materials; deliver RTM training materials
Must have transportation (RTM program requires driving to school site at least three days a week) – program related travel will be reimbursed
Program coordinators will work at schools, from the WTSF office in Burlingame, and have the option to work from home occasionally
Long distance travel (professional development/training) possibly once or twice per year (several days)
Occasional evening commitments required
